FAINA RUDSHTEYN, MASTER SESSION 3 ALUMNA
MEET FAINA RUDSHTEYN, MASTER SESSION 3 GRADUATE & CONTESTANT ON SEASON 12 OF FACE OFF!
WHEN DID YOU ATTEND THE MAKE UP FOR EVER ACADEMY IN NYC?
I was in session 3, graduated from the Master Makeup Program in the summer of 2013. My instructors were Floriane David and Jenn Evans who were absolutely amazing. I have a high standard of quality of work thanks to them.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR HISTORY WITH THE BRAND
During my time in Makeup Forever Academy I started working on set of different independent films and doing lots of photo shoots. Shortly after graduating, I was hired as a full time resident artist at the MAKE UP FOR EVER NYC Pro Studio. I worked there from August 2013- August 2015. During my time at the pro studio I got to learn from many talented artists as well as our own education team. I was able to assist in teaching clients and pros at seminars, and I also got to do body art and special effects demos, which is one of my main passions! When I was not working at the pro studio or working at trade shows, I would be assisting well known artists or working on set and doing photo shoots or working weddings and doing bridal makeup.
WHAT HAS YOUR EXPERIENCE AS A MAKEUP ARTIST BEEN LIKE SINCE GRADUATING FROM THE ACADEMY?
Working as an artist in New York, I mostly got to do beauty and body art, but my main passion was always special effects makeup. In 2014 I won 2nd place at The International Makeup Artist Tradeshow (IMATS) in Sydney Australia for the Character/Prosthetic competition. After that experience I decided to further my education in special effects. In September 2015 I moved to Los Angeles and took a few fx courses at cinema makeup school.
WHAT ARE YOU UP TO NOW?
I love MAKE UP FOR EVER, and I still work for the brand as a freelance selling specialist/ makeup artist in Los Angeles and NYC. I have been also working a lot in Los Angeles with European Body Art and doing a lot of demos for them at Monsterpalooza.
I mainly work on body art and beauty editorial projects in LA. I am also an artist for The Harder Group, which is an amazing agency started by our very own session 2 graduate Kyle Harder!
Currently I work full time at this badass SFX shop called Immortal Masks where we make silicone masks.
WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT AS A MAKEUP ARTIST SO FAR?
I am a contestant on season 12 of Face Off, which airs June 13th, so be sure to tune in!
I am honored to be the first from any Makeup Forever Academy class to be on a competition show. Flo knows it was on of my biggest goals.
