Becoming an artistic makeup artist: why choose a long training program?
Do you want to become an artistic makeup artist and are unsure between our training options? Discover our advice.
Becoming an artistic makeup artist has been your dream for many years? Passionate about makeup, you would give anything to work in the beauty industry, on television sets, or theater stages? At the MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy, we offer several training programs that will allow you to step into this extraordinary world.
You might be hesitating between a long training program and a short one? Discover our advice.
A More Comprehensive Training to Become an Artistic Makeup Artist
If you choose to enroll in a long training program, the duration will be 6 to 12 months, full-time, from Monday to Friday.
For example, if you enroll in the Professional Makeup Artist Training – Artistic, Cinema & Prosthetics Option, you will attend demanding courses on various subjects for 12 months. Upon completion of the program, your skills will be recognized in the beauty, stage, and television industries. As an artistic makeup artist, you will easily find your first assignments. Courses on facial morphology, makeup techniques for television, Body and Face Art, fashion shows, and art culture are all included—nothing is overlooked.
If you choose a short training program, you may find it easier to continue your professional activities. However, the courses will not provide you with the same level of expertise as a long training program, at least not in the short term.
The Opportunity for Internships Throughout the Training
During our long training programs, you will not only attend theoretical makeup classes. You will also participate in numerous internships on television sets, theater/musical shows, and fashion shows—being on the ground is still the best way to learn and progress. Over 12 months, you will benefit from our network and experience exceptional opportunities. These internships will also allow you to build and maintain a network, which is a significant advantage for finding assignments in the beauty industry once you obtain your diploma.
Becoming an Artistic Makeup Artist with Recognized Training
Our long training programs are recognized by the Ministry in charge of professional training and registered in the National Directory of Professional Certifications.
Some of our short training programs are also recognized, but they do not allow you to validate all the modules needed to become an artistic makeup artist. You will need to follow several to validate all competencies. For example, the Beauty & Bridal training offered at our makeup school only allows you to validate competencies n°2 and n°3 of the artistic makeup artist certification recognized by the Ministry in charge of Professional Training.
If you are interested in one of our long training programs to become an artistic makeup artist, do not hesitate to contact us. We can provide information on any questions you may have (the program, registration procedures, training validation methods, internships during the year, funding assistance, etc.).
