About MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy: MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy is a professional makeup school certified by the National Directory of Professional Certifications (RNCP). It is open to non-professionals who want to learn the basics of makeup and to professionals (hairdressers, beauticians, junior makeup artists) who want to improve in various disciplines. Trainings range from a few days to several months. The teachers are expert makeup professionals. Various themes are available: beauty, fashion, artistic (for stage, theater, face and body painting), prosthetics, and special effects for TV and cinema.
What techniques are taught at MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy?
MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy teaches new makeup techniques with both theoretical and practical parts. For non-professionals, the theoretical part includes learning about morphology, color theory, complexion, corrective makeup for lips, eyes, and eyebrows. Additional topics include daytime makeup for mature, Asian, or dark skin, and bridal makeup. The days are usually divided into two parts: morning theory and demonstrations, and afternoon practical sessions on models or other participants, supervised by teachers. For professionals, more advanced makeup trainings are offered. Techniques covered include eyeliner and fan techniques (eye makeup), smoky eyes, and light and shadow play like strobing and contouring to reshape the face. In cinema trainings, students learn from top international professionals. Some trainings include creating characters with wigs and prosthetics using the "hair by hair" technique.
Sessions to master the basics of professional makeup: Many sessions are available throughout the year at MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy. The Beauty, Glam & Editorial Makeup training, for example, helps students master the basics of professional makeup. Over one month, students learn and practice beauty, face, and fashion makeup. The beauty program includes knowledge of professional products, color theory, facial morphology (eyes, eyebrows, and lips), eye techniques (fan, closed banana, open banana, smoky, halo, eyeliner), light and shadow play like contouring, and lip makeup.
Various types of makeup are taught for mature, deep skin, Asian skin, and for Western and Eastern brides. The training also covers false eyelash application and creation, product mixing, eyebrow concealment, editorial makeup, and texture effects for fashion (photoshoots, runway). Various tips are provided to adapt techniques to different fields.
Techniques learned in Makeup Artist long trainings at MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy: While short trainings help master and improve makeup techniques (from beginner to expert), the several-month-long Professional Makeup Artist trainings offer more opportunities.
These trainings teach all the basics of professional makeup and the latest techniques, allowing students to become professional makeup artists. The multidisciplinary teaching covers the basics like blending, light and shadow play, natural to sophisticated makeup (scar camouflage), and techniques for different professional contexts (photo, runway, wedding), lighting techniques for sets (outdoor, day, and night), special effects makeup (cuts, skin diseases, burns), and theater makeup techniques like creating emotions (joy, anger, sadness) through a character.
Advantages of learning new makeup techniques at MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy: The long Professional Makeup Artist trainings provide access to the international MAKE UP FOR EVER network and job opportunities through an online platform. Throughout their training, students do internships to gain their first professional experiences and develop their professional network. Students meet and work with renowned national and international professionals. During the trainings, participants have access to the Proloft store where products are sold at a 40% discount. Makeup products are provided, but necessary tools like brushes and sponges are not. MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy makes every effort to find a model for each participant. The academy is a state-approved continuing education center, so training costs can be covered by an organization.
