Become a professional special effects makeup artist for cinema, television, theater, and fashion through the training programs at the MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy.

Special Effects Makeup Training

The MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy offers various training programs for students who wish to become professional makeup artists and work in fashion, beauty, artistic fields, theater, cinema, and television. Throughout their training, students have the privilege of internships in fashion, theater, television, and cinema where renowned international makeup artists share their experience and expertise.

Long-Term Professional Makeup Artist Training: Cinema and Prosthetics Option - The Master Program

This Master Program is designed for beginners and experienced makeup artists who want to improve and specialize in cinema and special effects. This 3-month program (recognized by RNCP) is divided into two modules: Cinema and FX & Prosthetics. Candidates are selected based on an application and an individual interview with a professor or a Commercial Attaché from the Academy, who assesses the candidate's artistic sensitivity and motivation. During their training, students visit television sets, film shoots, and learn makeup techniques for interviews, shows, commercials, music videos, special effects (bruises, scars, wounds), camouflage, and tattoo creation. Over the 3 months, they study the role of the makeup artist on set, live conditions, various audiovisual productions, makeup products, the history of cinema and lighting, and create characters with wigs and hairpieces, and fabricate prosthetics. Students have the privilege of learning alongside top international professionals during their internship.

Professional Makeup Artist Training: Event, Artistic, and Stage & Cinema and Prosthetics Option

For the Event, Artistic, and Stage & Cinema and Prosthetics Option (recognized by RNCP), students are selected by the faculty or a Commercial Attaché based on their artistic portfolio and administrative file. Admission is confirmed through an individual interview with an Academy professor who evaluates the candidate's artistic sensitivity and motivation. During the 12-month training, students learn all the basics and professional makeup techniques that will enable them to work in various fields: cinema, television, artistic, theater, fashion, and beauty.

The first months focus on beauty, fashion, and facial makeup (essential skin concepts, colorimetry, anatomy, different makeup styles from natural to sophisticated). The courses then introduce makeup for television and cinema, followed by theater and face painting. The final months are dedicated to body painting, makeup on television sets, film shoots, wig and hairpiece creation, and prosthetic fabrication. Complementary teachings include art history and drawing, taught by a certified lecturer from the Louvre Museum. An international network of makeup artists and industry professionals also provides lectures. At the end of their training, students present a photo book of their makeup work, validated by a jury including Dany Sanz, the founder and artistic director of MAKE UP FOR EVER, and professional makeup artists. Successful students receive a professional skills certificate.

Professional Makeup Artist Training: Event, Artistic, and Stage Option

The admission and courses for the Event, Artistic, and Stage Option are the same as the beauty, artistic, and cinema training. This 9-month program is recognized by the Ministry of Professional Training and registered in the National Directory of Professional Certifications. Throughout their training, students intern in various fields like television, theater, fashion, for shows such as Nouvelle Star, The Voice, and others.
