Master the creation, application, cutting and styling of realistic beards using mixed techniques and a variety of materials by Roberto Pastore.


/// ATTENTION /// THIS COURSE WILL BE CONDUCTED IN ENGLISH ONLY AND WILL ONLY BE HELD WITH A MINIMUM OF 12 PARTICIPANTS.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION / PREREQUISITES: This course is aimed at individuals with an advanced level. Participants must have experience in the field of professional makeup or hairstyling in audiovisual or live performance.

All participants must be over 18 years old on the first day of the course and be able to speak and understand English fluently.

ADMISSION FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

Students with disabilities who wish to enroll at the MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy are advised to contact the academy’s disability liaison officer beforehand. This officer is the point of contact for students with disabilities.

To validate enrollment, a preliminary interview is organized between the disabled student and the disability liaison officer to determine if the nature of said disability is compatible with following the training program successfully.

If a student with disabilities is deemed capable of following the course and confirms their enrollment, then it will be up to the disability liaison officer to organize all matters related to welcoming them and ensure coordination with teaching staff and administrative teams.

PEDAGOGICAL METHODS:

The course is delivered continuously, alternating between phases:

Theoretical: These are visual and interactive classes that facilitate learning theoretical concepts such as hair nature and varieties, presentation, and use of tools...

Demonstration: The instructor creates and applies prefabricated hairpieces which allows students to learn necessary techniques for complete service execution.

Practice: Students practice designing and creating prefabricated pieces on a model based on a topic presented by the instructor. The practical workshops enable learning techniques and product use.

Feedback provided by instructors during practical workshops

Collective or individual debriefing sessions reviewing each participant's work Case studies using photos/videos

RESOURCES PROVIDED

➢ 1000 square meters of training space including a professional photo studio (backgrounds, light boxes, etc.);
➢ Makeup Stations (portable makeup cases), stage cases, styling heads, vices, mannequins...;
➢ Professional makeup products available for use throughout training;
➢ Face, Eye & Body Chart included
➢ SONY HXR 4K High Definition Cameras and large OLED screens used during demonstrations;
➢ Ergonomic workstations equipped with high chairs, mirrors, adjustable intensity lighting
➢ LED panels with variable intensity/color temperature used during makeup demonstrations available for participants to photograph their work.

• Fork combs
• Tail combs
• Moustache trimming combs
• MAC Blot Powder in medium & medium dark colors
• Medium straight clips
• Sectioning clip pins
• Strong hair spray (Got2b or similar)
• Cheap synthetic flat art brushes
• Makeup brushes
• Lip pencils (brown & red)
• Duo Quick Set glue
• Disposable cutting capes
• Small glass jar (for solvents & brush cleaning)
• Acetone / Available if you don't have your own
• IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) / Available if you don't have your own
• Aquafix cream / Available if you don't have your own
• Alcohol palettes (Browns/blacks/flesh tones) / Available if you don't have your own

REGISTRATION TERMS:

Deposit payable upon registration to confirm participation in training: €450

Balance due no later than ten days before start date of training: €1050

Accepted payment methods: credit card, cash (by appointment), bank transfers.

Failure to pay full training fee 10 days prior will result in cancellation of enrollment.

The classes run from 9 am to 5 pm, starting with theory and demonstrations in the morning, followed by practical sessions on models under teacher supervision in the afternoon.

This training is for makeup and prosthetics professionals working in the Film industry (movies, series, TV, etc.).

It provides essential supplementary skills in prosthetics by teaching you prefabrication techniques for ready-to-apply pieces and their application methods, allowing you to deliver more realistic and quicker results than with conventional techniques. This module also helps you learn or enhance your skills in shaping and styling your work.

These techniques are innovations pioneered by prosthetic makeup artists such as Roberto Pastore, who will lead this Masterclass.

OUR TRAINING PROGRAM "LAYING HAIR BY ROBERTO PASTORE"

Demo (Model):

- Mixed techniques for creating a beard: hair by hair and prefabricated pieces on Baldiez.
- Introduction to types of hair: natural and synthetic, their uses.
- Designing a beard, transferring the design onto acetate paper.
- Prefabrication of pieces using appropriate tools and techniques. Practical application on a model.

APPLICATION, CUT, AND STYLING:

- Adapting and applying a prefabricated piece, manual finishing touches.
- Practical trimming and styling in pairs.

SHORT BEARDS, TECHNIQUES, AND AGING EFFECTS:

- Demo (2h / Model): Various techniques for short hairs, inserts, "stubble" effect, smooth gradients.
- Participants creating a partial prefabricated piece on Baldiez for a character.

FINAL PROJECT FOR PARTICIPANTS:

- Intensive practice (5 to 6h): Direct hair-by-hair application technique, versatile cutting and styling for modern or historical looks on a model.
